Good afternoon Stunt Community members!

Thank you to everyone who voted in the recent proposed “National Stunt Coordinator Guidelines Vote”. Here are the results: 469 UBCP/ACTRA members with 3+ stunt related credits were emailed the vote. 171 members voted (37%) 72% of respondents voted YES to the proposed “National Stunt Coordinator Guidelines” What’s next: UBCP/ACTRA’s approval of the Guidelines will be forwarded to ACTRA National. All ACTRA branches are to have their results communicated to ACTRA National by July 31, 2017. I have been working with the staff at Fortius Sport & Health and WCB for years to find a way for our members who are injured at work to be treated in this world class medical facility.I've been advocating hard for early diagnosis &treatment, a multi-practitioner approach to healing, concussion clinic access and appropriate understanding and support from WCB.Up until now, this has not been possible. Variances for WorkSafeBC are no longer required for stunt performers working on SCUBA in our industry!

The language has changed in the Guidelines and we are good to go - now, very clearly, actors and stunt performers are BOTH considered "principal performers".Revised Guideline CLICK HEREWorkSafeBC did make one addition that everyone should be aware of:All performers (both actors and stunts) will be required to have this PADI MEDICAL FORM CLICK completed by a physician. This will be something that productions should know ahead of time so they can possibly add it to the actors initial medical if one is being done.
